A Hero Among Us

Rebecca, Occupational Therapist at Livingston.
On the morning of Mountain Fire, our incredible Occupational Therapist,
–
Rebecca, visited a patient in Camarillo. The patient, recently discharged from a skilled nursing facility, was weak and confined to bed in a relative’s home.
–
During the visit, Rebecca noticed heavy smoke filling the area. Concerned, she called her husband, an LA City firefighter, who confirmed her fears: the blaze was spreading rapidly.
–
Realizing the urgency, Rebecca immediately shared the news with the patient and their relative. Wasting no time, she helped the patient into a wheelchair and then into a car, ensuring they could get to safety.
–
Later that day, the patient’s relative returned to the home, only to find they had a mere 15 minutes before the fire consumed it entirely.
–
Thanks to Rebecca’s quick thinking and decisive action, her patient was safe, and her relative remains profoundly grateful.
