This past December, Livingston hosted two successful evening events for our “Light Up a Life” Remembrance ceremony, held in Oxnard and Camarillo.

On Saturday, December 2nd, more than 75 guests joined us in Heritage Square to remember and pay tribute to the lives of special people in their lives at this tree lighting & remembrance event. Guests enjoyed comradery over refreshments provided by local businesses; 1901 Restaurant, Seasons Catering and Heritage Coffee. The following weekend, Saturday December 9th, we had a beautiful event at our Camarillo Light Up a Life event. We had over 125 guests attend and featured a symbolic candle-lighting ceremony.

Laura McAvoy, Livingston Board Chair, provided a warm welcome followed by Julie Tumamait-Stenslie, a local Chumash elder, who provided a beautiful and peaceful reflection and blessing. Grief counselors from Livingston’s Grief & Bereavement services shared a “Remembrance” to celebrate the love we share with those we remember, and how they continue to be present and shape and influence us. A special tribute was shared for our fallen soldiers and veterans. Students from Sierra Linda Elementary, performed holiday songs and assisted in our magical Tree Lighting.

Livingston is fortunate and grateful to the many loyal supporters, sponsors, and volunteers who helped make these events possible, THANK YOU.

Wishing you a blessed holiday season.
