Volunteer of the Month – August 2025
Angie has been a devoted hospice volunteer since 2013,a path she chose after the passing of her husband, David, who spent his final days in the compassionate care of Livingston Hospice. The experience left a deep impression on Angie—the kindness of the staff, the gentle dignity with which they treated her husband, and the comfort they offered her family during this challenging time. “It’s my pleasure,” she says simply, when asked why she continues to volunteer. For Angie, this is not just service—it’s a heartfelt way to honor her husband’s memory.

Angie understands intimately the emotional and physical toll that caregiving can take on families. She has witnessed firsthand how tirelessly loved ones give of themselves —often for long stretches and without rest. That’s why she feels called to step in—to be a source of comfort and relief, even if only for a short while. “Caregivers have such a big job for so long,” she reflects. “I just want to give them a little time to breathe.” In her quiet, steady presence, Angie offers not only her time but her empathy, her understanding, and her heart—proof that even in grief, love can find new ways to serve.
