Light Up A Life 2024 – Recap

lightupalife, holidays, treeoflife,

Camarillo Light Up event.

This year, we were honored to host three memorable “Light Up a Life” events, each one an opportunity to come together in remembrance and celebration of loved ones. On December 6
th, amidst the charming backdrop of Oxnard’s Heritage Square, guests gathered for a heartfelt tree lighting and remembrance ceremony. The evening was filled with warmth and reflection as participants honored the memories of those they’ve lost.

The next day, on December 7th, we continued this cherished tradition in the serene surroundings of Constitution Park in Camarillo, where guests took part in a symbolic luminary lighting, creating a powerful sense of unity and remembrance.

To wrap things up, on December 11th, we hosted our final Light Up a Life event in the warmth and coziness of Poinsettia Pavilion overlooking Ventura, where individuals gathered and placed stars inscribed with the names of their loved ones on our beautiful tree.

We are very grateful to everyone who joined us at these special gatherings. We were honored to host the Carpe Diem Chorus, as well as Julie Tumamait-Stenslie, a respected Chumash elder. We also appreciate Stanford Parks for paying tribute to our brave service members, honoring the sacrifice of fallen soldiers and veterans. Your time and support made each event more meaningful and impactful.

We owe a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated supporters, sponsors, and volunteers, whose generosity and hard work made these events possible. Their support helped ensure that these moments of reflection and remembrance were truly impactful. A special thanks to 1901 restaurant and Heritage Coffee for graciously providing refreshments for our Oxnard Light Up event.

This year’s events were a great success, raising over $100,000 to support Livingston’s compassionate hospice and grief & bereavement programs. These funds, raised through tributes and sponsorships in honor of loved ones, will help ensure that our

mission continues to provide comfort and care to those in need.
