Angie ha sido voluntaria de cuidados paliativos desde 2013, una labor que emprendi\u00f3 tras el fallecimiento de su esposo, David, quien pas\u00f3 sus \u00faltimos d\u00edas bajo el cuidado compasivo de Livingston Hospice. La experiencia la marc\u00f3 profundamente: la amabilidad del personal, la delicadeza y dignidad con que trataron a su esposo y el consuelo que brindaron a su familia durante este dif\u00edcil momento. \u201cEs un placer\u201d, responde con sencillez cuando se le pregunta por qu\u00e9 contin\u00faa como voluntaria. Para Angie, esto no es solo un servicio, sino una sincera manera de honrar la memoria de su esposo.

\nAngie comprende profundamente el desgaste emocional y f\u00edsico que supone el cuidado de un ser querido para las familias. Ha sido testigo de la entrega incansable de sus seres queridos, a menudo durante largos periodos y sin descanso. Por eso siente la necesidad de intervenir, de ser una fuente de consuelo y alivio, aunque sea por un breve instante. \u201cLos cuidadores tienen una labor enorme durante mucho tiempo\u201d, reflexiona. \u201cSolo quiero darles un respiro\u201d. Con su presencia serena y constante, Angie ofrece no solo su tiempo, sino tambi\u00e9n su empat\u00eda, su comprensi\u00f3n y su cari\u00f1o, prueba de que incluso en el dolor, el amor puede encontrar nuevas formas de ayudar.
