Recognizing that the City of Ojai is in an unfolding crisis -- with personal tragedies, loss of homes, ongoing fire danger, and poor air quality -- we have made the decision to cancel the Ojai Light Up a Life event at the Chaparral Auditorium that was to be held on Thursday, December 14.
Although we understand that this is an important event to so many of you as a time to recognize and remember your loved ones in the holiday season, we made this decision because we do not want to jeopardize anyone's well-being further by pulling you away from your homes and family, creating more traffic and more pressure on our responders.
We will have opportunities for you to remember your loved ones. Please stop by our Ojai office during business hours to place a star on the tree and to view the heartwarming photo presentation. You can also visit Rains Department Store and place a star on the tree featured in their display window. The photo presentation can be viewed on our website.
Be assured that Livingston has been deeply involved in assisting our many patients who have been evacuated, supporting our staff who have likewise been evacuated, and consulting with and assisting with the Ventura County disaster response team of which Livingston has long been a partner. We continue to care for our patients and support their families in their hospice and home health needs throughout the county.
The long list of the many persons being remembered through Light Up will continue to be posted on our website. Thank you for your understanding and your support. You allow us to make a difference supporting our Ventura County community wherever it is in need.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and those in need throughout this disaster and beyond.
